Work starts next week (3 March) on a new 58-space car park for Collingham station.
Network Rail is delivering the project, which also includes three additional disabled parking bays, direct access to platform 2, including a ramp for mobility impaired passengers, and floodlighting.
The car park will improve safety by removing the need for passengers to park on the main road. It will also allow for predicted growth in passenger numbers in the future.
East Midlands Trains, Nottinghamshire County Council, Newark and Sherwood District Council, Nottingham – Lincoln Railway Stakeholder Board and Friends of Collingham Station are all supporting the scheme.
Work on the car park should complete in late April and open in May following highway alterations by Nottingham County Council.
