Here’s a classic case of a Chinese traveller doing another wrong act on his visit to a Chinese monument. An 18 year old Li Wenchunsat climbed on the head of a Red Army warrior when visiting a red tourist site to click a selfie.
The place where this incident took place was in the city of Yan’an, in northern Shaanxi province. This place is famous as part of the rich history of the Communist party of China and was the end point of the Long March. It is considered as the holy land of the Chinese revolution. Tourists are taken there to learn about the revolutionary history and tradition of the Chinese.
The pose that Li struck on the head of the bronze statue of a female warrior wearing his black shirt and trousers and red sneakers has caused quite uproar on social media.
Li has been blacklisted by the Chinese tourism authority. It was declared by them that Chinese who were caught misbehaving will be discouraged from taking vacations.
The Chinese traveller behaviour has been brought under questions after many travellers displayed unruly and inappropriate behaviour like attacking flight attendants, fighting in airplane aisles and opening emergency doors in non-emergency situations.
The Chinese tourism authority in a stint to put an end to bad behaviour has decided to blacklist Li for ten years as opposed to the two years suggested earlier.
