The “Power of Marriott” Descends upon Shanghai and Beijing with a Sample of its 4,400+ Hotels

Marriott-InternationalMarriott International today announced that representatives from more than 100 Marriott International hotels from 11 countries and covering eight brands will gather in Shanghai and Beijing for Sales Mission 2016, organized by the Marriott Global Sales Organization.

This year’s event, aptly themed The Power of Marriott, offers conference organizers and corporate planners a glimpse of Marriott International’s breadth of more than 4,400 hotels spanning 87 countries and comprising 19 brands, from moderate-tier to the ultimate in luxury.

Marriott International has historically been known for its city-center properties however the company has expanded into the resort and lifestyle segments. Of note is the first Edition brand hotel in China, which will be located at the Oceanside destination of Sanya and planned to open in the Fall of 2016. Once open it will offer 2,100 square meters of private event space and one of the largest ballroom spaces in Haitang Bay. Representatives from the EDITION Sanya will be at the Sales Mission and attendees will be invited to partake in EDITION-themed coffee/tea breaks.

Other hotels of note and participating in the Sales Mission include the Marriott Hotel Hua Hin, located 200 km from Bangkok and features a fine sandy beach, cultural heritage, as well as exciting activities, such as is golfing at some of Asia’s most renowned courses. Also in Thailand is the Marriott Hotel Phuket, which is expected to open later this year. Lastly, attendees are encouraged to visit the representatives from the JW Marriott Phu Quoc, located in the up-and-coming resort-vacation destination in Vietnam.

Earlier this year, Marriott International and Eastern Crown Hotels Group, one of China’s fastest growing lodging groups, signed an exclusive development agreement to bring the “Fairfield by Marriott” brand to Mainland China. The introduction of the Fairfield brand is a significant milestone in Marriott International’s expansion into the midscale hotel segment in China.

The Sales Mission will also offer visitors an opportunity to network and learn about the latest trends in meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibition (MICE), specifically the Marriott International initiative, Meetings Imagined , which is a new set of tools that offer clients end-to-end solutions that help design and manage the perfect meeting experience.
