Québec City’s Ambassador Circle honored 15 members during an evening celebrating their contribution to promote Québec’s international reputation. The 2013 International Cochrane Colloquium was awarded Best Event of the Year 2013.
The evening celebrating the contribution of the ambassadors to the international reputation of Quebec was held January 17, 2014, at the Delta Quebec. In attendance, Tourism Québec’s Associate Deputy Minister, Ms. Suzanne Giguère, as well as representatives from the Québec CityConvention Centre, Québec City Tourism and Québec’s Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. France Légaré, Clinician-teacher and Professor at the Department of Family Medicineand Emergency Medicine at Université Laval, and Mr. François Rousseau, Medical Biochemist and Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology, Medical Biochemistry and Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine at Université Laval, received the Event of the Year 2013 Award. They worked in bringing the event to Québec City, attracting close to 1,000 participants at the Québec City Convention Centre in September 2013 and generated tourism expenditures of $1.9 million in the region.

Ms. Line Rochefort, Professor at the Department of Plant Sciences, was named Ambassador of the Year 2013 thanks to her contribution to the development and positioning of her field of excellence as well as the reputation of the Region of Québec.
