2013 Partnership Between Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas and Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa Raises Nearly $60,00 to Benefit Wish Kids in 2014

Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas raised nearly $60,000 as a result of its 2013 partnership with Austin’s award-winning Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa. 2013 fundraising events included the Make-A-Wish Golf Classic, Barton Creek’s Holiday Lights & Ice outdoor ice rink, the Barton Creek Country Club holiday silent auction and a silent auction held by Omni Hotels & Resorts in collaboration with key clients.
For the third consecutive year, Omni Barton Creek committed to raising funds for Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas to help grant wishes to children facing life-threatening medical conditions.
“Every year, thousands of children submit their wishes to Make-A-Wish and it is because of partners like Barton Creek that we are able to fulfill these hopes and dreams,” said Glenn West, president & CEO of Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas. “Through its continued support of our mission, Omni Barton Creek is helping give seriously ill children unforgettable memories of a lifetime.”

The annual Make-A-Wish Golf Classic at Barton Creek took place December 16, 2013, on the Fazio Foothills course. The property’s popular fourth annual Holiday Lights & Ice event, which featured Austin’s largest outdoor ice rink at 4,100 square feet, was from November 27, 2013, through January 6, 2014. Additional funds donated through a members’ auction at Barton Creek Country Club and a silent auction by Omni Hotels & Resorts helped make Barton Creek’s 2013 contribution to Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas a game-changer for kids in need
