HKTBOrganised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), with Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) as the title and charity sponsor, the city’s largest-ever road- cycling event – the Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon – will be held tomorrow (September 25). This mega event features nine categories and over 4,600 participants.
Top overseas cyclists, including members of two professional UCI teams – Lampre-Merida and ORICA-BikeExchange – were invited by the HKTB to participate in the International Criterium. The teams have arrived in Hong Kong for some last-minute preparations for the race.
To ensure the event runs smoothly, road closures along the race routes will be implemented in phases from 1am on September 25 in areas including Lantau, Kwai Tsing, New Territories South, West Kowloon and Tsim Sha Tsui. Traffic on most of the affected main roads will resume as normal by 11am. Traffic in East Tsim Sha Tsui will resume as normal by 6pm.

The Transport Department predicts that over 150 bus and mini-bus services will have to be rerouted, shortened, suspended or repositioned. The HKTB reminds the public to pay attention to the special traffic arrangements.
