A 53 years old British man was found dead in a burning yacht in the Caribbean. The Caribbean police are investigating the death of the British national.
Police identified the man as John Edward Garner, who was found in a life raft with leg and head injury.
The coast guard investigating the incident said. He was admitted in a hospital but died soon after.
The family of John Edward Garner was being provided the assistance of a consular.
The police are awaiting the result of the post-mortem examination following Mr. Garner’s death at Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, in Kingstown.
John Edward Garner had flown to the Caribbean with his Norwegian wife in January. She had left to go back to Norway and he was getting his boat seaworthy.
The boat had just undergone repairs a few weeks ago.
Local media say the burning yacht, called Asante, was found approximately 15 nautical miles off the coast of Buccament Bay, in St Vincent, at about 12:30 local time (16:30 GMT).
