5th-World-Ecotourism-ConferenceThe 5th World Ecotourism Conference – “Marine and Coastal Ecotourism: Oceans of Uncertainties, Waves of Opportunities” will be organised jointly by the Department of Tourism of the Philippines and DiscoveryMice, in collaboration with UNWTO in Cebu City, Philippines from 13 to 15 November, 2013.
Objectives of the 5th World Ecotourism Conference
A key objective of the World Ecotourism Conference is to help and support host countries that are in need of a global platform to champion, position or support ecotourism policies and initiatives that will bring transformational changes for the betterment of their economies, people or environment. In addition to Government facilitation, the private sector, academia and civil societies have an obligation to pool their resources and realize common aims and objectives; a concerted commitment to enshrine ecotourism principles, sustainable development and best practices in national tourism policies.

Session 1. Management: Behind Marine Ecotourism Success Stories
Session 2. Destination Development: Socio-Economic Value Beyond Beaches
Session 3. Successful Ecotourism Marketing: Experiences Is The Real Thing
Session 4. Coastal Communities: Eliminating Poverty through Sustainability
The main aim of the conference is to bring together the stakeholders and the policy makers and to find sustainable solutions for the overall development of the coastal regions and is contributing to the sustainability of the area.
