A-BITE-OF-ITALY-300x168Beginning February 17, 2014, Chef Stefano Andreoli will present Italian regional set dinners as Caffe Mondo embarks on its year-round “A Bite of Italy” gourmet journey. Throughout 2014, guests will have chances to sample typical Italian cuisines and wines from eight major regions of Italy at Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou.

“Italian food is characterized by its simplicity and varies by region. With our regional themed menus, completed by a wide selection of antipasto and desserts, Caffe Mondo gives epicures the best reasons to appreciate the variety and richness of Italian flavours,” says Stefano Andreoli, executive sous chef of Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou.

The first region on Chef Stefano’s menu is Veneto in the northeast of Italy, which is also his mother’s hometown. His creations include black ink tagliolini with squid sauce; milk stew cod fish; and roasted guinea fowl, black pepper and salami sauce. To pair them are classic wines from Verona, Veneto’s best wine region, namely Valpolicella and Soave.

Following Veneto, “A Bite of Italy” gourmet journey will take its followers to savour regions including Trentino Alto Adige, Friuli, Sicily, Sardinia, Tuscany, Piemonte and Lombardy with six bimonthly menus carefully curated by Chef Stefano.

Set dinner guests can choose one regional dish as main course and enjoy unlimited antipasto and desserts at CNY 328.00 per person. The price is subject to 15 percent service charge. Pairing wines are available at extra charges.
