Aberdeen-International-AirportPassenger numbers grew for the month of February, according to figures just released today.

255,416 people used Aberdeen International Airport last month, which is 6.5% up on the same month last year.

There was growth across the board with both the fixed wing and helicopter operations reporting an increase.

Carol Benzie is the airport Managing Director. In a statement she welcomed the latest results, describing them as “good news”.

She went on to say: “In the coming weeks we will begin our summer schedule.

This will see an increase in the amount of holiday traffic, as new charter destinations continue to be added such as Corfu for sun-seekers.

Our scheduled operation is also growing with the new service to Riga about to take off and another service to Oslo.

“Whilst we are working hard on expanding our leisure offering further, a lot of work is currently underway to make sure that the summer peak can be managed to our historically high standards.

Managing this increase in passengers around the on-going terminal redevelopment work is no easy task and we are grateful to our customers for their support and patience”.
