Abu Dhabi named among top 10 destinations in 2015

Abu DhabiThe major international news website CNN.com has named Abu Dhabi among its Top 10 destinations for 15. The honor comes to the emirate as it is ranked alongside other desirable locations including Milan, the Bahamian Coast and Downtown Los Angeles.

The site tells its users that Abu Dhabi city – the capital of the United Arab Emirates and its skyline are “about to get a lot more inspiring” as the emirate bids to become the cultural capital of the Middle East.

“At the heart of Abu Dhabi’s reinvention is the 24,000-square-meter Saadiyat Island Cultural District,” states the site. “This intellectual playground is set to house the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi in 2017, the Zayed National Museum in 2016 and, if all goes according to plan, the Louvre Abu Dhabi – the first Louvre Museum outside Paris by the end of next year.”

The Louvre Abu Dhabi, designed by Pritzker prize winner Jean Nouvel is due to open on Saadiyat Island in December 2015.
