The app, which provides access to Agoda.com’s inventory of over 360,000 hotels around the world, allows users to browse through a list of the world’s top destinations, find hotels close to their current location while travelling, view photos, and read reviews written by Chinese customers. The app has been localized for a Chinese audience to enhance the experience of finding and booking hotels.

Wilfred Fan, Agoda.com’s Managing Director for North Asia said, “We’re extremely happy to be able to release the Android version of the Agoda.com on the Baidu App Store, China’s largest Android app marketplace. Customers will discover that the app has a terrific user experience and will find special deals not available on other channels.”

Research has shown that Chinese consumers are turning to their portable devices to book hotels in ever-increasing numbers, and the trend is only speeding up. A study by the China Outbound Tourism Research Institute (COTRI) forecasted 106 million border crossings from Mainland China in the second half of 2013 and first half of 2014, with a predicted total spending amount of USD $129 billion.
