AirAsia receives 1st international flight from Singapore into Kuala Terengganu

airasia-xAirAsia received its maiden flight from Singapore to Kuala Terengganu today, which landed on time at 1035hrs; marking the airline‟s first international destination from the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

 
The 3x weekly direct flight connects the metropolitan city of Singapore to the scenic and cultural town of Kuala Terengganu, which is the gateway to exciting island destinations such as Pulau Redang and Pulau Lang Tengah.
 

 
The guests on the inaugural flight AK 902 from Singapore were received and greeted by Terengganu State Tourism & Culture Committee Chairman, YB Dato’ Mohd Jidin Shafee and AirAsia Berhad’s Head of Commercial, Mr Spencer Lee upon arrival at the Sultan Mahmud Airport, Kuala Terengganu.

 

Spencer Lee, Head of Commercial AirAsia Berhad commented, “AirAsia is committed towards connecting communities, especially bridging the gap within this region. With Visit Malaysia Year 2014 (VMY2014) going on, this new direct route will provide the best opportunity for tourists to discover the various attractions that Terengganu has to offer. The new Kuala Terengganu – Singapore route is AirAsia’s only international route from Kuala Terengganu, and the sole airline to connect Singapore directly to Kuala Terengganu. AirAsia operates the Singapore – Kuala Terengganu route 3x weekly every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
 

Guests are able to book this route with everyday low fares at www.airasia.com. The airline also recently commenced other new flights recently, from Johor Bahru – Tawau (4x weekly) on 18 April 2014, and Singapore – Kota Bharu (4x weekly) on 21 April 2014.
