airberlin and NIKI plans to open an exclusive waiting area in Vienna

Airberlin-300x146As part of their comfort campaign, airberlin & NIKI have opened a new Exclusive Waiting Area at Wien-Schwechat airport. Following those in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Munich and Hamburg, this is the first Exclusive Waiting Area to be opened outside of Germany.

 

Guests flying with the airberlin group from Vienna can also now spend the time before their flight departs in comfort, and close to the gates.
 

Christian Lesjak, Managing Director of NIKI Luftfahrt, said at the opening ceremony: “We are very pleased that today we are opening the first Exclusive Waiting Area outside of Germany, right here in Vienna. This shows the importance of the location within the airberlin group. With immediate effect all top bonus members with Silver Status will be able to enjoy the comfortable service of the Exclusive Waiting Area.”

Thanks to the new Waiting Area, airberlin and NIKI travellers can enjoy a new and attractive service at Vienna Airport,” said Julian Jäger, Board Member Flughafen Wien AG. Dr Günther Ofner, Board Member Flughafen Wien AG, added: “We were able to finalise the Exclusive Waiting Area within a short time. We are happy that our flight guests can now benefit from this new offer.”

That is why we are delighted that, from today, we can offer our guests in Vienna, especially business travellers and frequent flyers, even more comfort before their flight in the Exclusive Waiting Area. Our top bonus status members already have the opportunity to park in the Exclusive Parking Area close to the terminal. With the opening of the Waiting Area, we are further enhancing the comfort we can offer at Vienna airport,” said Stefan Magiera, Vice President Corporate Sales airberlin.
 

Reserved parking spaces are available to all top bonus member with Silver, Gold or Platinum status on level 0 of car park P3, close to the terminal. Members in the top bonus frequent flyer program with Silver, Gold or Platinum status, and guests of the airberlin group with a flight booked as a Fly Flex fare or with a Business Class ticket for a connecting flight, can save time by using the Priority Check-in desks at the airport. Then they can use the Security Fast Lane to pass swiftly through the security checks.
 

The Exclusive Waiting Area is at Pier West, close to the gates for airberlin and NIKI departures. Newspapers and magazines, hot and cold drinks and current news broadcasts are available to flight guests free of charge, and there are 37 comfortable leather armchairs made by Walter Knoll to tempt them to relax. Power points are available for charging and connecting electronic devices. So that guests can check their departure time whenever they like, the Exclusive Waiting Area has its own departure information board.
 

From 31st January 2014, the Austrian partner airline NIKI will be offering services from Vienna to Larnaca and, from 30th March, from Vienna to Malta, now with three flights a week. There are numerous connecting services from Germany for these flights. From 10th March, Madrid can be reached from Vienna five days a week. In addition, the frequency of services to Rome will be increased by six, making a total of 19 flights a week.
