Allegheny County Airport Authority employees Bryan Dietz, C.M. (Ohio Township, PA), air service development manager, and Alexander Peric, A.A.E. (Moon Township, PA), aviation business manager, were named to Airport Business Magazine’s “Top 40 under 40.” The award recognizes up-and-coming individuals in the business of aviation and airport management who are shaping the future of the industry.
“Alexander and Bryan are assets to the Airport Authority team with professional and academic achievements. They have pursued their interests in helping others and have earned the respect of their peers in aviation management. One of the Airport Authority’s important goals is to encourage and nurture leadership in aviation among its employees,” stated Bradley D. Penrod, President, Allegheny County Airport Authority.
Peric, who has 12 years in the aviation industry, held various business and operational management positions for the Cleveland Airport System, City of Phoenix Aviation Department and Continental Airlines prior to coming to the Airport Authority in 2010.
Throughout his career in aviation, he has lectured to high school and college students on such topics as aviation careers and academic preparedness. He was the recipient of the 2013 Kent State University’s Vision 21 distinguished alumni award presented to college graduates who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in their profession. In 2010, he received both the Cleveland Airport System’s Director’s Award and Performance Award for exemplifying the values of the organization and for significantly exceeding performance objectives and goals. In 2008, the Mayor of Phoenix awarded Peric the title of “Friend of Phoenix” for his dedication, commitment and contributions to the Aviation Department.
Since coming to PIT Peric has led a project to modernize the Airports utility program under which new computerized meters were installed providing more accurate reading and billing of utility use. Peric has also worked on the relocation and combination of facilities for the airlines that have merged over the last three years.
Peric holds a Master of Labor Relations and Human Resources degree from the College of Business at Cleveland State University and is an accredited airport executive of the American Association of Airport Executives and a member of the Airport Commercial Management steering committee of Airports Council International – North America. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Management and a Private Pilot License from Kent State University.
As the air service development manager, Dietz assists in the development of passenger and cargo flights from Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). He works with air carriers to enhance air service to Pittsburgh and on broader issues for carriers such as airport congestion issues and international air service. Two projects he has been a part of during his career are the “PIT CASE” program, which is operationally designed to alleviate congestion at crowded airports, and the “PIT Connector Project” that supports strategic regional air service to medium-hub airports.
Dietz received a bachelor’s degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL, and is a member of organizations including Airports Council International – North America, American Association of Airport Executives, The International Air Cargo Association and Cargo Network Services. Dietz also serves on the Alumni Advisory Board of Embry-Riddle and recently was appointed to the CCAC Advisory Board. He also was appointed to ACI’s International Air Service Steering Committee in 2013 and serves on the Facilitations Committee. He will serve on the ACI Air Cargo steering committee in 2014.
