AMERICA-THE-BEAUTIFUHappy Birthday U.S.A.! This weekend, all things America will be celebrated at Chicago’s airports for the busy Fourth of July holiday.

Airlines anticipate more than two million passengers at O’Hare and Midway International Airports during this year’s seven-day Fourth of July holiday travel period, beginning today, July 2, through July 8, 2014.

Tomorrow, on July 3, passengers traveling through O’Hare and Midway will be entertained with a variety of live music performances in the terminals from 2 to 5 p.m.

The performances will cover a variety of genres including blues, jazz, bluegrass and R&B music.

American flags and patriotic decor will be displayed at various locations outside and inside both airports, including airport shops and restaurants.

Concessionaires at both airports will offer patriotic-themed merchandise and food, such as red, white and blue popcorn and cupcakes.

“Made in America” products and “Grown in America” food will be featured at shops and restaurants throughout O’Hare and Midway. Select restaurants are offering free and discounted food and beverage items to traveling military personnel.

Airport ambassadors at Midway will offer complimentary lemonade to passengers on Thursday, July 3.

The entertainment stages at O’Hare are located in the lower level baggage claim areas of Terminals 1, 2 and 3; and in the lower level arrivals area of International Terminal 5.

At Midway, the stage is located at the lower level baggage claim area next to the Information Booth.

The Fourth of July holiday entertainment is part of the Chicago Department of Aviation’s “Music in the Air” program, which provides entertainment year-round at O’Hare and Midway, organized in conjunction with Chicago’s downtown festivals and holiday celebrations.
