This 4th of July and for the first time Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce in association with Killarney Town Council are hosting a one day festival on the 4th of July to honour our American friends and associates.
Main Street Killarney will be transformed into Main Street USA to celebrate Independence Day with all our American friends and visitors alike. At 8pm an exciting and colourful parade will wind its way through the streets of Killarney ending up in the Beech Road Car Park for a summers evening concert with “The Roaring Forties” who will treat us to an evening of American swing music followed by a fantastic display of Fireworks at approximately 10.30pm.
Killarney 4th of July Celebrations organising committee chairperson Kate O’ Leary said “This is a rally call for all of us in Killarney to show our appreciation of our American friends and associates. Nothing would please me more than to see the streets of Killarney packed with locals, visitors, and of course our American friends to witness our Big Parade and join in the fun that is organised throughout the day.”
A full programme of events is available from Hotels and retail outlets throughout the town and we want everyone to come out and party to celebrate the 4th of July as if it was our own.We are appealing to local business owners, retailers, restaurateurs, to join in the celebrations by decorating their premises in Americana, red, white and blue, dress the window and if restaurants could do an American Special on the day how great that would be. A limited number of American Flags are available from Kate O’ Leary at The Laurels Pub and Restaurant.
