ANA today announces that it will further improve access to Brazil for its passengers through an increase in code-share flights with TAM Airlines.
ANA already offers a code-share flight with TAM that carries passengers to Brazil’s commercial capital Sao Paulo via London. Two new code-share flights to Sao Paulo will be added from October 26, one departing Paris and the other departing Frankfurt.
The new code-share flight via Paris will be particularly convenient as passengers from Japan will be able to transfer smoothly between flights without leaving the airport’s Terminal 1. The new code-share arrangements with TAM are in addition to ANA’s existing code-shares to Brazil with its Star Alliance partners United Airlines and Lufthansa. ANA will also put its code on 5 additional routes beyond São Paulo.
Brazil is currently investing in tourism in preparation for hosting the 2016 Olympic Games. The country also has deep links to Japan, which will host the 2020 Olympics. Current United Airlines and Lufthansa code-share flights to South America are shown below. The addition of the two codes-hare flights with TAM Airlines means that codeshare flights are now available on 10 routes to South America.
