Cape-Cod.With the end of official winter it was expected that the long winter spell in the U.S. has finally ended, but just as Easter approaches another storm is about to break into the  interstate 95 corridors, touching Washington, Philadelphia but the hardest hit will be Cape Cod.

With a near zero visibility forecast in Cape Cod, the wind speed will be 70 mph and snowfall of about 10 inches will fall in the region. There is much trepidation among Americans who are yearning for clear weather which seems to be a far off thought.

The weather is not unusual said The National Weather Service. April was stormy in the last year too with 2 inches of snow. The powerful low-pressure system will develop over the Mid-Atlantic coast. Temperature will be 20 to 25 degrees below normal and will cover Mid-Atlantic States and New England as the storm traveled from southern Virginia to Maine.

There are chances with coastal flooding with significant beach erosion along the Massachusetts coast Northern Massachusetts and Boston could get 2 to 4 inches of snow. New Hampshire may see 1 to 2 inches, west of Boston to Worcester are forecast to get about an inch.

Coastal Rhode Island, Connecticut and eastern Long Island in New York are expected to get 2 to 5 inches, while New York City is expected to get less than an inch. Portions of New Jersey and Pennsylvania could get 2 to 4 inches of snow.

Far eastern Maine could get 8 to 14 inches. Washington County, on Maine’s eastern tip, could see wind gusts of 50 mph that will likely cause scattered power outages, said meteorologist Mike Kistner.

Dulles International Airport will get about 3.8 inches of snow by Tuesday night. There will be  a  record amount of snowfall of 52.8 inches this year breaking the record of 2002 which was 50.1 inches says meteorologist Amy Bettwy , this may be the third snowiest winter since record keeping began in 1962. Official ranking should be revealed soon.

Restaurant owners are concerned as business has been low by 10% this winter and they are hoping that the cold weather ends.
