Visit-Scotland’s-EXPO-2014On 2nd and 3rd April at Glasgow’s SECC, for the third time Argyll and the Isles Tourism Co-operative (AITC) is off to Visit Scotland’s EXPO 2014.

The event brings together nearly five-hundred international organizations, with around 350 exclusive UK-based companies plus tour operators, travel agents and travel media.

Connie Lovel, Chair of AITC, describes the event as ‘enormous’: ‘Tourism is a key sector in Argyll and the Isles, and EXPO enables us to show a very high profile audience – including some of the most influential tourism players in the world – just why this region is at the forefront of Scotland’s tourism industry.’

Guests attracted to Argyll for two important attractions: astonishingly rich heritage, including natural heritage of land and seascapes and wildlife and legendary whiskies, and activity tourism on land and water. Whatever anyone wants to do or to try, they can do it in Argyll.

‘The feedback from previous events suggests the potential value of new business generated can run into hundreds of thousands of pounds.

So we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure we’re in a position to take maximum advantage,’ said Connie Lovel.

AITC was formed in 2012, which provides a region-wide approach to increasing awareness of Argyll and the Isles as a high quality tourist destination.

The enjoyments of Argyll are about JIGIN, the Joys Of Getting In and the spectrum of expertise at AITC is well able to represent those delights in any forum.
