Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco is delighted to introduce exclusive wine dinners this fall showcasing two of Napa Valley’s premier vineyards, Swanson and Blackbird. Guests are also invited to continue the epicurean journey with a stay in a luxurious guestroom in the sky.
Swanson Wine Dinner
On October 24, 2014 the hotel will host a delightful artisanal wine dinner with Clarke and Elizabeth Swanson of Swanson Vineyards and winemaker Chris Phelps. To complement the unique wine selections, Brasserie S&P Executive Chef Adam Mali has created a five-course menu which features Pommes Gaufrettes (2012 Chardonnay), Roasted Sonoma Quail (2011 Merlot), Coriander Black Pepper Crusted Big Eye Tuna (2011 Zinfandel), Charred Fallon Hills Ranch Lamb Loin (2010 Alexis Cabernet Sauvignon) and a “Pumpkin Pie” with persimmon (2008 Tardif Late Harvest Chardonnay).
The Swanson Wine Dinner begins at 7:00 pm with hand-passed canapés and Swanson Rosato, followed by an exclusive vertical tasting of Face Cabernet Sauvignon from 2008, 2009 and 2010.
For dinner guests looking to turn their evening in the city into a weekend stay, Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco is offering a special rate of USD 415 plus tax per night for the evenings of October 24 and 25, 2014.
Blackbird Wine Dinner
On November 8, 2014 at 7:00 pm, the terroir-driven wines of Blackbird Vineyards will be paired with a farm-to-table four-course menu specially created by Chef Mali. The wine dinner will begin with the 2013 Maisonry Sauvignon Blanc and 2011 Recuerdo Aliado Malbec as well as a selection of canapés.
The seasonal four-course menu includes Baked Dungeness Crab Gratin (2013 Blackbird Rosé), Confit of Liberty Duck Leg (2012 Blackbird Vineyards Arise), Slow Roasted Fallon Hills Ranch Lamb Shoulder (2012 Blackbird Vineyards Denary Cuvée and 2011 Blackbird Vineyards Paramour Red), and Local Artisanal Cheese with Poached Autumn Fruit (2006 Blackbird Vineyards Illustration Red).

The Swanson Wine Dinner is priced at USD 175 per person or USD 150 per person for Swanson Wine Club Members. The Blackbird Wine Dinner is priced at USD 150 per person.
