Starwood Hotels & Resorts in South Asia hosted Starwood Careers Day across India, Maldives and Bangladesh on March 21st, 2014. Aspiring candidates looking at a career in hospitality flocked at participating hotels in the hope of landing with their dream career. An innovative effort Starwood Careers Day reflects Starwood’s talent strategy that goes beyond talent attraction, to include talent development and talent retention.
The event consolidated the strengths of Starwood’s nine hotel brands and offered unique opportunities to prospective employees to explore a career with Starwood that is broad-based in terms of portfolios and one which provides highly sought-after regional and global exposure.

During the event, candidates got the opportunity to discover career growth opportunities and explore employment possibilities with Starwood Hotels and Resorts across Asia Pacific. This spanned careers in Front Office, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, Revenue Management, Finance, Concierge, Rooms, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Kitchen, Stewarding, Engineering, Security, Accounting and Administration Departments
South Asia is among one of Starwood Asia Pacific’s fastest growing regions. Starwood currently operates 41 hotels with additional 42 properties under construction in South Asia including 38 hotels operating in India and 35 in the pipeline. Starwood Hotels aim to have 100 hotels either operating, under development or management contracts signed by the end of 2015. With the growing portfolio, Starwood South Asia looks to add over 2000 positions by the end of 2015.
