Atatürk Airport Became The “Airport With The Most New Routes” In Europe

TAV-Airport-300x165Istanbul Atatürk Airport became “Airport with the Most New Routes” at Euro Annies 2014 Awards which was organized by anna.aero website, one of the closely followed-up website by aviation professionals, for the fifth time.

 

 

Increasing the number of direct destinations by 20 during August 2013-2014 period, Atatürk Airport received the winning title at Euro Annies 2013 where the best of the aviation industry are awarded.

 

TAV Istanbul General Manager Kemal Ünlü stated “Istanbul Atatürk Airport has secured a position for itself amongst the leaders of the aviation sector with its fast growth. Providing service to 406,000 aircrafts and 51.3 million passengers in 2013, Atatürk Airport is ranked the 5th of Europe and 17th of the world. Today, more than 70 airline companies launch flights to 264 domestic and international destinations from Atatürk Airport.

 

 

Istanbul Atatürk Airport is also listed amongst world’s top 10 airports in its category in terms of passenger satisfaction. Working in harmony with all our stakeholders, particularly with General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI), General Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHGM) and Turkish Airlines (THY), we are working to make Atatürk Airport one of the world’s important hubs. We are more than happy to become the airport which increased the numbers of direct destinations the most amongst the European airports and receive this award.

 

 

Given by Anna.aero, aviation news and analysis website based in Great Britain, Euro Annies awards are based completely on the data and evaluate the business development and growth performances of airports and airlines. Istanbul Atatürk Airport was selected the “Fastest Growing Airport” of Europe for its 21 per cent growth during the award ceremony held last year. Also, Istanbul Atatürk Airport shared the winning award with Amsterdam Schiphol Airport under the category of the “Airports with the most new non-European routes” the previous year.
