Austrian Airlines strengthens role as East-West carrier!

Published on : Monday, February 4, 2013

Austrian Airlines will once again be offering a wide-ranging product in its 2013 summer schedule: the domestic carrier will serve a total of 130 destinations in 55 countries this summer.
With seven extra flights a week to St. Petersburg (Russia) and four extra flights a week to Chisinau (Moldova), the company will strengthen its role as the most important East-West carrier in Austria.
In Eastern Europe, Austrian Airlines will increase its flights this coming summer with one flight a week from Vienna to each of its destinations in Amman (Jordan), Yerevan (Armenia), Sibiu (Romania) and Skopje (Macedonia).

In addition to this, the Austrian carrier will increase its product to Košice (Slovakia) by two flights a day. As the most important specialist carrier to Eastern Europe, Austrian Airlines is reacting with this expansion to the East to the increase in its North American product to Chicago, and consequently offering the perfect East-West connection.

Austrian Airlines non-stop to Chicago
Austrian Airlines is extending the North American product in its 2013 summer schedule: it will fly five times a week to Chicago using a Boeing 767 equipped with a completely new cabin with new full-flat seats in Business Class, modern Economy Class seats and a state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system.

That means Austrian Airlines will be offering up to 26 non-stop flights a week to North America next summer, flying daily to New York, Washington and Toronto.
Austrian Airlines will offer attractive transfer connections via Chicago with United Airlines to cities across the western USA, including services to and from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Las Vegas, Denver and Seattle.

New to schedule: Palma, Palermo and Chios
The holiday flyer segment will once again offer numerous interesting holiday destinations in the 2013 summer schedule. The focal points will be Italy and Greece, with destinations such as Palermo being added from 26th April, 2013 and Chios from 29th May, 2013. Each destination will boast one flight connection a week. In Greece, Austrian Airlines is and remains the clear market leader, with 21 destinations. Austrian Airlines is also increasing its product to Egypt, with one more flight a week to Cairo. Palma will also be incorporated into the Austrian flight schedule from 4th May, 2013, with three flights a week (each Thursday, Saturday and Sunday).
The new summer schedule will also feature one fewer flight a day to Spain and Great Britain, so that Austrian Airlines will now fly three times a day to London and twice a day to Barcelona.

The 2013 summer schedule comes into operation on 31st March, 2013.
