VerduraGolfAndSpaResort-09aug16Award-winning golf in a five-star setting is the perfect recipe for any golfing break, and Sicily’s deluxe Verdura Resort has lined up a feast of delights for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy this autumn.

The breathtaking venue, which is set in 230 hectares of stunning landscape and lies adjacent to the Mediterranean, has enjoyed a record-breaking golfing year in 2016 and is offering outstanding value over the coming months – with prices starting from €189 (approx £158) per person per night.

Boasting a mouth-watering array of world-class facilities including three golf courses, Verdura – named ‘Best Golf Hotel in Italy’ at the 2015 World Golf Awards and receiving a Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Award for Best International Resorts – is every golfers’ dream with an abundance of golfing riches to experience under cloudless Sicilian skies.

Host of the 2012 Sicilian Open, the resort features two 18-hole championship courses, the East and West, as well as a nine-hole par-three course – all designed by legendary architect Kyle Phillips – with the facilities complemented by an extensive practice area including a double-ended driving range and first-class academy.

Available from September until the end of October, four-night bed-and-breakfast packages start from €756 per person (approx £635) including two rounds of golf, access to the luxury spa facilities including sauna, steam bath and swimming pools, and full use of the practice facilities.

Seven-night, four-round breaks in the Sicilian sunshine can be booked from €1,323 per person (approx £1,100) including breakfast and the same leisure privileges, while golfers looking to enjoy some winter golf abroad can enjoy four-night, two-round stays on the same terms between November and March from just €535 per person (approx £450).

All prices are based on two people sharing a twin or double standard room and are subject to availability.

Bookings at Verdura have increased across its golfing sectors over the last 12 months, and its success on the course has been mirrored off as it has claimed a number of top accolades, as well as retaining its place in Golf World’s benchmark ‘Top 100 Courses in Continental Europe 2015/16’ rankings.

Built to the highest specifications, Verdura’s three links-style layouts offer a golf experience to remember, with tee times arranged at 12-minute intervals to ensure free-flowing play, five sets of tees making the courses playable for golfers of all abilities and one of its courses dedicated daily to two-ball play only.

To enhance the golfing experience, players can also take advantage of the latest state-of-the-art TaylorMade equipment when hiring clubs at the resort after a significant recent upgrade of its rental service. Prices start from €55 (approx £40) for a two-round package.

Situated on Sicily’s southern coast between Agrigento and the fishing city of Sciacca, an 80-minute drive from Trapani and Palermo airports, Verdura Resort features 203 rooms and suites – all with a sea view.

Away from the fairways, the resort – a Sir Rocco Forte hotel – features an array of other luxury sports and lifestyle facilities while guests also have the opportunity to sample a taste of the gastronomy, wine, history and culture that has made Sicily famous across the world.
