To celebrate the beginning of a third year of support for Badongo, the magnificent alpha male silverback lowland gorilla at Jersey’s Durrell Wildlife Park, Malcolm Lewis of Jersey’s luxury hotel Longueville Manor presented the world-famous wildlife conservation trust with a cheque for £6,522 bringing the sponsor’s total support to £18,000. In addition to this nearly 1,600 Longueville Manor guests have visited the Wildlife Park, their entrance fees supporting Durrell’s vital conservation work around the globe.
Badongo showed great interest in the extra offering of a papier-mâché heart filled with his favourite treats which he generously shared with his lady friends. Badongo and his three-strong harem enjoyed Ad Info playing games, and having to break into the heart added to the enrichment to their day, which was spent indoors, due to the winter weather.
