Foreign tourist arrivals to Bali rose 20.06 percent to 279,671 in January 2014 over the same period last year, Indonesian news agency ANTARA reported.
Tourism observer Dewa Nyoman Putra said data from the Bali Tourism Office showed nearly 95 percent of overseas visitors were holiday makers.
The remaining 5 percent were business visitors who were mostly operating in the handcraft trade as well as students and travellers on social visits.
“Most visitors to Bali said they were attracted to the natural beauty of the island and its cultural arts,” Dewa said.
