Bangkok Airways to offer twice daily non-stop service between Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Chiang Rai

VIP_with_aircraft_captionBangkok Airways has recently announced its latest expansion to the northern largest city of Thailand – Chiang Rai by offering non-stop flights from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Chiang Rai. Commencing on 28 March 2014, the airline will be using a 162-seater Airbus A320 aircraft to service this route.

Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, Bangkok Airways’ President stated, “We see Chiang Rai as another potential destination to enhance tourism and commerce within the region. The city is also a strategic gateway to neighboring countries such as the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic which is a path way  for the upcoming ASEAN Economic Community as well as most southern parts of China.”

“As Bangkok Airways is focusing on leisure destinations, therefore we see the high demand from international passengers connecting to South East Asia. We look to cement our position in the increasingly competitive Thai market. We are also confident that with our strong reputation as an airline offering a boutique flying experience for our passengers, Bangkok Airways will become a leading player in this market,” Mr. Puttipong continued.

Furthermore “Our latest flight will promote Chiang Rai as the center of cycling, so we Bangkok Airways’ would like to offer an extra privilege for passengers flight from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Chiang Rai where passenger can travel with 1 bicycle for free by informing our airline within 24hrs before flight.”

The first outbound flight PG231 departs from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 07.35hrs and arrives in Chiang Rai Airport at 08.55hrs while the second outbound flight will depart Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 18.05hrs and arrive in Chiang Rai Airport at 19.25hrs. For the first inbound flight, PG232 will depart from Chiang Rai Airport at 09.45hrs and arrives in Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 11.05hrs while the second inbound flight will depart Chiang Rai airport at 20.10hrs and arrive Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 21.30hrs

All passengers of Bangkok Airways can enjoy a boutique lounge at Suvarnabhumi where passengers can treat themselves to a variety of free snacks and various choices of hot and cold drinks as well as free Wi-Fi Internet access.
