easyjet-salzburgThere was a premiere in the capital today with the first easyJet flight from Berlin Schonefeld to Salzburg. The airline therefore now also offers a route from Germany to Austria – a great reason to celebrate for easyJet and Berlin Schonefeld Airport. Every passenger on the first flight received a small surprise gift before take-off.

Right on time for the skiing season to Austria

As of today, holidaymakers and business travellers are able to fly five times a week from Berlin to the city of Mozart. Tickets are already available from 32.49* euros. “easyJet’s expansion strategy is a boon to Berlin Schonefeld Airport. We are delighted the airline is continuing to expand its route network here and is offering another attractive destination right on time for the skiing season,” says Hartmut Mehdorn, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. With the addition of Salzburg to the flight schedule, easyJet now has 44 direct connections from Berlin Schonefeld in its portfolio. In the spring, the airline will be adding another aircraft to its fleet in the capital. “We want to offer the people of Berlin and Brandenburg as many direct connections as possible to interesting European cities. So we are particularly delighted we are now also flying to Austria from Berlin,” says Thomas Haagensen, Director of easyJet Germany.

Salzburg – well worth a visit any time of year

Whether you are visiting the festival in the summer or going skiing in the winter, Salzburg and its hinterland are an attractive destination throughout the year. At the birthplace and residence of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, visitors can walk in the footsteps of the world-famous composer. And the narrow streets and alleys of the old part of town, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site with splendid Baroque architecture, invite visitors to stroll and explore. Salzburg is also an interesting location for trade fairs and congresses. Fans of winter sports and nature can explore the city’s hinterland on skis or enjoy the tranquillity at one of the many lakes there.
