And the award goes to …”. Under this motto Chopin Hotel Cracow celebrated its 20th anniversary of opening. The Birthday Gala, which was attended by about 300 guests, was really Oscar-winning momentum: award ceremony, artistic performances and exquisite catering gave it lots of splendor.
2013 is a very special year for the Chopin Hotel Cracow because of the double jubilee – 20th anniversary of the opening and the 10th anniversary of joining the Vienna International Hotels & Resorts. On this occasion the hotel invited into his hospitable interiors more than 300 of its business partners, customers, employees and journalists. The Birthday Gala was led by Michal Figurski and one of the main attractions was a dance show choreographed by Matthew Majzner, for which costumes were from MMC Studio, Wojciech Haratyk and Piotr Drzał as well as the music show of Tiffany’s Trio band.
“20 years obligates, so we decided that our birthday gala will be really exclusive and elegant. Evening dresses, awards ceremony, the appropriate musical and visual arts and to the excellent cuisine. I think we proved that despite of the three stars in the logo we are organizing events at the highest level.”- proudly emphasizes Ewa Nowakowska, General Manager Chopin Hotel Cracow. She added: “I would like to thank all the guests who celebrated with us this special moment and of course our partners and the whole team Chopin Hotel Cracow – for their commitment and enthusiasm.”

The guests of the Chopin Hotel Cracow birthday gala entered the hotel in a paparazzi flashes through the red carpet. Then everyone was invited into the sponsor wall where they were taken picture. The official part began with a brief custom music show performed by Tiffany’s Trio. Agatha Zaluska’s electrifying voice caught the attention of guests with film songs from the early 90′s. Then Michal Figurski, host of the event, came on the scene and introduced briefly Chopin’s history. Then he gave the floor to the speakers: General Manager Ewa Nowakowska and representatives of the City of Cracow, Vienna International Hotemanagement AG and Warimpex Poland. Then it was time for some artistic and award attractions.
Chopin Hotel Cracow decided to organise an award ceremony on the occasion of its double anniversary. It honored the first guest who visited the hotel after taking it over by VI Hotels & Resorts, as well as its best customers of the travel and conference industry as well as corporate clients. The winning companies were: Jan-Pol, Hotelbeds, Deutsche Bank and Progress Project. The awards ceremony was divided into three parts and each of them was preceded by a unique dance show choreographed by Maciej Majzner – former Joanna Horodyńska assistant and now choreographer of many fashion shows, including the FashionPhilosophy Fashion Week Poland, and director of many dance shows, i.e. in the Jankowski Dance Studio. Show presented at the Chopin Hotel Cracow birthday gala has been prepared especially for that occasion and associated to this 20 years. Dancers in costume of the MMC Studio, Wojciech Haratyk and Piotr Drzał gave an amazing demonstration of their skills to songs that were related to the important dates in the Chopin Hotel Cracow history. First “What Is Love” Haddaway was to hear, then calm “Moon Song” Varius Manx, energetic ” Hunk up” Madonna and the final – hit of the last year “Skyfall” Adele. Every show alluded to the video in the dancers’ stylization, but showed a completely new quality and magic that was highlighted by the play of lights, arranged by the event partner, the company BSC Solutions.
However, this was not the end of the attractions. What was not to miss was a birthday cake with honoring of the employees working at the hotel since its opening, as well as the final concert of the band Tiffany’s Trio. The event lasted late into the night, thanks to the DJ, who encouraged the guests to dance long after midnight.
