Boosting tourism growth between Vietnam and Japan

000HHDLNhatBanthamHHDLVNJPGIn 2013, Japanese tourists to Vietnam hit a record of more than 600,000 arrivals and Vietnamese tourists to Japan reached 85,000 arrivals. In the first 6 months of 2014, Vietnam welcomed 317,849 Japanese arrivals and Vietnamese tourists to Japan were 59,600 arrivals.

 
In order to seek expanded cooperation and improve tourism quality of the two countries, from 22 to 23 August 2014, leaders of Japan Tourism Association (JATA) and leading Japanese travel agencies namely Nippon, Kinki, JTB, Japan Gray Line, Tobu Travel, Toptour, Nokyo, Hankyu, Tonichi, KNT came to Vietnam and had a meeting with Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) and 12 Vietnamese travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City.

 
The activity of JATA aims to impulse Vietnamese tourists flow to Japan and vice versa, which promises to promote tourism development of the two countries.

 
To reach the goal of increasing number of Japanese tourists to Vietnam to 1 million arrivals and Vietnamese tourists to Japan to 200,000 arrivals in 2017, Vietnam Society of Travel Agents (VISTA under VITA) has established Japanese Outbound Travel Clubs (JOTC) in Ha Noi, Da Nang and HCM City (including 45 leading Vietnamese travel agencies) and opened representative office of Vietnamese travel agencies in Tokyo, Japan (since 4 June 2014).
