Brazil hotels fleecing fans over World Cup fever

riodejaneiro_hotel_038p-300x236Hotels in Rio have doubled their value in the FIFA World Cup season. Prices in gastronomy, transportation, and hotels, among other things have gone double pinching pockets of the thousands of fans who have gone to Brazil to witness the World Cup.

 

 

Rio de Janeiro is the most expensive among the other South American cities. Prices are said to rocket sky high on June 18 with the Spain-Chile game. The price rise is being experienced in all cities of Brazil. The cost for tourists to stay will reaches an average price of 247 euros especially on June 18.

 

 

Also, of all the cities where “the Red” will be during this first stage—that is where they will make their debut next Friday against Holland in Salvador, at the Fonte-Rio Arena, which is shaping up to be the most expensive.

 

The final will be the most expensive night of the World Cup in Rio, where fans will have to pay 274 euros on average. With elevated prices and the going trends the monthly average on hotel prices this June will be 212 euros over 143 euros which was in May.
 
The cheapest city where Spain will play in the Arena de Baixada, located in Curitiba, average hotel prices will be 108 euros and on June 23 when Spain will play Australia prices will fall upto 152 euros. However the price is still double of May when hotels rooms in Curitiba only costs 76 euros.
