cwtCarlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), a global leader in managing business travel and meetings and events, was awarded Travel Partner of the Year at the btTB Travel Management Awards last week.

The btTB Travel Awards provides recognition of best practice travel management, with the Travel Partner of the Year Award recognising the contribution made by a provider with a client.

“btTB recognises the value of relationships between buyers and suppliers. Smart procurement is no longer about beating suppliers over pricing or suppliers focusing on winning more business, but rather on enduring relationships. Judges recognised that the CWT/NSW Government collaboration is a great example of what can be achieved by working together,” said Allan Leibowitz, content director Procurement and Supply and editor – Business Travel Management (Australasia). “CWT’s selection is noteworthy as The Travel Partner of the Year award is a very competitive category every year.”

CWT demonstrated its dedication to client success over the past 12 months by highlighting their development of Australia’s very first state government one-stop travel shop. By delivering the right technology and effectively communicating changes with a high level of client involvement, CWT delivered an end-to-end online hotel booking solution, an overall reduction of average hotel room rates by 25%, improved compliance and the implementation of a new system for traveller safety and security.

“We are thrilled to have won the btTB Travel Partner of the Year Award,” said Peter Brady, managing director of CWT Australia and New Zealand. “We have been providing air travel services to the NSW Government since 2005 and this award can be largely attributed to the strong partnership we have forged over the past nine years.”

CWT’s work with the NSW Government exemplifies its commitment to delivering innovative strategies that help to optimise the travel programs of its customers. A strong focus on collaboration and effective communication has resulted in CWT’s program being adopted throughout the NSW Government.
