The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) hosted its 4th Annual Safety, Health & Wellness Expos at O’Hare and Midway International Airports on November 19 and 20.
More than 350 employees participated in the events, which were held at O’Hare’s Skilled Trades Building on November 19 and today at Midway’s Airport Maintenance Complex (AMC). Each expo featured over a dozen exhibitors, including Costco, Healthways, L.A. Fitness, University of Illinois – Chicago and Walgreens.
Attendees had a unique opportunity to participate in a workout during the CDA’s Safety, Health & Wellness Expo. The O’Hare expo offered scheduled health screenings, flu shots, a workout pavilion, safety and health exhibits, healthy cooking demos, green living ideas, financial health information and more. Midway’s event offered similar activities for all airport employees.
“The Chicago Department of Aviation is following Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s lead to promote healthy lifestyles and wellness for City of Chicago employees,” said CDA Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino. “The health and safety of airport employees is a top priority for the CDA and is an important part of our ability to effectively manage and operate O’Hare and Midway International Airports.”
