Southwest Airlines anticipates operating a full schedule at Chicago-Midway International Airport (MDW) on Monday, Sept. 29. Due to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) capabilities in managing this complex issue, we feel confident in producing a full schedule with minimal possible delays and cancellations.
Southwest Airlines operated more than half its schedule from Chicago-Midway International Airport (MDW) on Sunday, Sept. 28, proactively canceling 57 flights and working with affected Customers to minimize inconvenience. With more than 3000 flights scheduled to depart systemwide today, 62 were canceled, as of 4pm CDT.
We continue encourage Customers to visit southwest.com to check their flight status before departing for the airport. Customers holding reservations that include Chicago-Midway and/or Milwaukee on Sunday, Sept. 28, through Wednesday, Oct. 1, have the option to adjust their travel through southwest.com or by calling 1-800-I-FLY-SWA.
