China Cargo Signs GE90 OnPoint Solution Agreement

download-122China Cargo Airlines signed with GE Aviation for a 12-year OnPointSM solution agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of its GE90-110B engines that power six Boeing 777 Freighters.

“We have selected GE’s OnPoint service solutions to cover these engines because we trust GE’s flexible service and the overall quality and support they have provided.

GE provides MRO services for two of our current Boeing 747 Freighters powered by GE’s CF6-80C2 engines, and we are very satisfied for the service and support,” said Li Hongxiang, vice president of China Cargo Airlines.


“GE is proud to provide our high-quality MRO services to China Cargo’s GE90 engines,” said Kevin McAllister, president and CEO of GE Aviation’s Services organization.


“Now, more and more customers select our OnPoint solutions to cover their engine fleet, which demonstrates their confidence in our commitment to keep their engines operating in the top-condition.”

OnPoint solutions are customized service agreements tailored to the operational and financial needs of each customer for any size fleet.


These agreements are designed to help lower the customers’ cost of ownership and maximize the use of their assets. Backed by GE’s global support network, OnPoint services may include overhaul, on wing support, new and used-serviceable parts, component repair, technology upgrades, engine leasing, integrated systems support and diagnostics and integrated systems.


China Cargo Airlines, established in 1998, is the first all-cargo airlines in China.


After merging with Shanghai Airlines Cargo and Great Wall Airlines in 2011, China Cargo is now the largest air freight company in China.

China Cargo is the joint venture of China Eastern Airlines, China Ocean Shipping (Group), Taiwan EVA Airways and Singapore Airlines Cargo.
