“Chinese Heritage—Grotto” Photo Show Held in Capital Airport

BCIA-Capital-Airport-300x123To further develop and spread the Chinese traditional culture, BCIA works with the State Bureau of Cultural Relics and China Relic Information Consultation Center to hold a photo show with the theme of Chinese cultural relics.

 

The theme of the show is “Cultural Gateway”. The purpose of the photo show is to demenstrate the quintessence of Chinese traditional culture to the whole world and to build a platform for passengers home and abroad to appreciate Chinese traditional culture in an all-round and multi-dimensional way.

 

It is also aimed to enrich the cultural experience of passengers in the terminals.

The duration of the “Chinese Heritage– Grotto” photo show is from August, 20th to September, 20th. The show is held in corridor between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 in Capital Airport.

 

The exhibitions include Mo Kao Grottoes at Dunhuang in Gansu province, Yungang Grottoes at Datong in Shanxi province, Dazu Grottoes in Chongqing, Maijishan Grottoes in Gansu province and Shizhongshan Grottoes in Yunnan province.

 

These Grottoes represent the culture and sculpture styles in different historical period and regions of China, which is endowed with the artistic fascination of Chinese grotto.

In the year of 2009, Capital Airport started its first series of “Cultural Gateway” public benefit activities and began to play a role as a window of cultural exchange.

Through these activities, Capital Airport can not only fulfill its social responsibility of Chinese cultural exchange with foreign countries but can improve the passengers’ satisfaction as well.

 

Since 2009, Capital Airport has carried out 40 plus exhibitions and performances including “Cultural Gateway: Charm of Baoji”, “Art of Chinese Opera”, “Clothing cultural exhibition of Chinese ethnical minorities” and so on.

 

These exhibitions and performances have gained general recognition and favorable reputation.
