Chinese premiere meets Malaysian counterpart to deepen bilateral tourism support

ASEAN countriesChairman Li Jinzao held a meeting with the Malaysian delegation headed by Minister of Tourism and Culture Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz to discuss issues of common interests such as how to deepen bilateral tourism cooperation and expand bilateral tourism exchange. The Malaysian Ambassador to China Datuk Zainuddin Yahya was also present at the meeting.

 

Li remarked, “China and Malaysia enjoy deep friendship, frequent people-to-people exchange, and active economic and trade contacts, all forming obvious advantages for tourism cooperation. Malaysia is one of the first outbound tourist destinations and one of the favourite tourist destinations for Chinese visitors.” He added that China highly valued the tourism cooperation with Malaysia and hoped to intensify tourism promotion in each other’s market, simplify the visa process and increase the mutual visits of Chinese and Malaysian people. Li also invited Mr. Minister to the 1st World Conference on Tourism for Development to be held in Beijing in May.

 

 

Minister Nazri said, “Malaysia is one of the first ASEAN countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China. We highly value the friendship with China. We welcome more Chinese tourists to Malaysia and encourage more Malaysian people to visit China. We would like to work with Chinese counterparts to further advance China-Malaysia tourism cooperation.” He thanked CNTA Chairman Li for inviting him and looked forward to the event.
