Chinese touristEven though Chinese passengers are travelling frequently and have earned the distinction of serving the world with the highest number of tourists, some have a hard time following rules and keeping their impulses under check. A few days ago a Chinese couple threw boiling water on a flight attendant and threatened to blow up the plane.

Yet again recently, another Chinese passenger decided to open the emergency exit to deploy the door as an emergency exit as a slide on a China Eastern flight MU2331 from Xi’an arrived at Sanya Fenghaung International Airport in Hainan.

He said that he wanted to get off the plane quicker and therefore opened the emergency slide. He said that he did not pay attention to the instruction and safety briefing at the beginning of the flight.

The return flight was delayed by almost two hours.

The cost to repair and replace the open cabin door and emergency slide would be RMB 100,000 (S$21,000).

Chinese tourists have to behave more responsibly and represent their country better. All destinations are serving Chinese tourists who come in large numbers. One can only hope that they leave behind a better impression for all service providers.
