CN announced today that the ninth edition of the CN Hockey Greatest Stars Challenge raised $365,000. The proceeds will benefit charitable organizations supported by the CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund (CN Community Fund), notably the Marie-Vincent Foundation, The Children’s Wish Foundation, the Montreal Oral School for the Deaf, L’Appart à moi, and The Cancer Support Center in Homewood.
Since its first edition, in 2003, the CN Hockey Greatest Stars Challenge has raised $2.1 million for charity.
Olivier Chouc, CN vice-president, Law, and chairman of the board of the CN Community Fund, said: “We are very proud to make a significant contribution that will help make a difference for the organizations selected this year. I want to thank and congratulate our employees and retirees, as well as our business partners, who have given back to the communities in which CN operates by raising funds benefiting charitable organizations for many years through the CN Community Fund.”
On Saturday, at Montreal-North’s Garon Arena, CN’s hockey club played against a team of former Montreal Canadiens coached by Guy Lafleur, including Guy Carbonneau, Sergio Momesso, Stéphane Richer, and Chris Nilan.
