‘Egypt – Gods. Humans. Pharaohs. – Masterpieces of the Museum Egizio Turin’ is the title of a compelling exhibition on Ancient Egyptian culture presented against the industrial backdrop of the Völklingen Ironworks, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The exhibition in the Blasting Hall, which runs from 25 July 2014 to 22 February 2015, features around 250 high-calibre exhibits that are on display for the first time in Germany. They give a fascinating insight into various aspects of Ancient Egyptian culture over four millennia, such as art, the worship of gods and everyday life.
Besides the Völklingen Ironworks in the Saarland there are 38 other outstanding UNESCO World Heritage sites in Germany that are just waiting to be visited.
