Cotai Strip Macao hosts a premiere dhow of “Penguins of Madagascar”

Penguins-of-Madagascar-Premiere_01-300x199Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao hosted a movie premiere and red carpet event for DreamWorks Animation’sRealD3D adventure-comedy blockbuster“Penguins of Madagascar” Saturday as part of the DreamWorks Experience at Cotai Strip Macao.

 

The celebrity-attended event at The Venetian Theatre was the Macao and Hong Kong debut of the animated movie and attracted a crowd of onlookers and media.Presented in RealD 3D, the premiere promises an immersive experience for the attending guests.
Among the celebrity attendees were the four actors lending their voices for the Cantonese version of the film–Donald Tong, Bob Lam, Joyce Cheng and Tyson Chak–as well as Edmond So, Calvin Choy, Edmond Leung, Lo Man Chong, Chan Kwok Pong, Cheung Shung Kei, Cheung ShungTak, Lau Mei Kuanand HunterZ.

Local professional boxer and undefeated super welterweight Ng Kuok Kunwas also in attendance, as was Hong Kong’s undefeated super flyweight Rex Tso.Both fighters will return to the ring at The Showdown at Sands at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arenaon March 7, 2015.

 

There were also about 280attendees from community associations including the Association for the Parents of the Mentally Handicapped, Against Child Abuse(Macau) Association (ACAM) Child Protection Centreand The Kinwa Family Service Centre of the Social Service Division of the Methodist.
Saturday’s premiere was the fourth to come to Macao as part of the DreamWorks Experience at Cotai Strip Macao, following“Turbo” in July 2013, “Mr. Peabody and Sherman” in March 2014 and “How to Train Your Dragon 2” in June 2014.
The interactive DreamWorks Experience at Cotai Strip Macao includes the Shrekfast Character Breakfast with the DreamWorks Gang, a DreamWorks-themed buffet breakfast with exclusive stage performance available with hotel packages at Holiday Inn Macao Cotai Central and Sheraton Macao Hotel; a daily DreamWorks Animation All Star Parade through Sands®Cotai Central; DreamWorks Animation Character Meet and Greet sessions; special holiday activities and more. The four hilarious penguins from “Penguins of Madagascar” – fearless leader Skipper, rookie Private, loose cannon Rico, andKowalski, the brains of the group –also take the lead in “Penguins Undercover Ice World with DreamWorks Gang”at The Venetian Macao, ongoinguntil March 31, 2015. Visitors can see an array of ice renderings of much-loved characters from “Shrek,” “Madagascar,” “How to Train Your Dragon” and“Kung Fu Panda,”as well as having a photograph taken with the Penguins of Madagascar themselves at Asia’s largest annual indoor ice sculpture exhibition.
“Penguins of Madagascar” is DreamWorks Animation’s 30thmovie.

 

 

It was directed by Eric Darnell and Simon J. Smithand isa spin-off of the “Madagascar” film series which introduced the world to Skipper, Private, Rico and Kowalski, the most entertainingly mysterious birds in the global espionage game.

The film tells of their adventures, from their humble origins to their latest international mission: a race to save the world from gifted madman Dr. Octavius Brine.

 

The all-star voice cast of “Penguins of Madagascar” includes Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, Conrad Vernon, Christopher Knights, Benedict Cumberbatch and John Malkovich.
Audiences in Macao and Hong Kong will be able to enjoy a Cantonese versionvoiced by some of the most hilarious stars in the region, including Donald Tong, Bob Lam, Joyce Cheng and Tyson Chak to name a few. “Penguins of the Madagascar” will be formally released on Feb. 19, 2015,

 

in Macao and Hong Kong, meanwhile paid sneak previews will be started from Feb. 14, 2015 onwards.
