Pan Pacific Hotels Group has announced the appointment of Craig Syphers as General Manager of Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore.
Located along the city’s main shopping belt of Orchard Road, Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore features elegant interiors and 206 guestrooms tastefully furnished in the Pacific hues of warm golds, rich greys and blues. Guest amenities include a variety of function spaces, the award-winning St. Gregory spa, Lobby Lounge and 10 at Claymore, a popular modern bistro grill. In recognition of its product and service excellence, Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore was voted as one of the Top 10 Luxury Hotels in Singapore at the 2015 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Hotels awards.
A passionate Australian hotelier, Craig has worked at several reputable hotels in Australia and New Zealand, including Pullman Cairns International, Citigate Central Sydney, Sebel Parramatta, Carlton Crest Hotel Sydney and Centra Auckland Hotel. He brings to his first role in Asia an impressive resume with over 25 years of experience spanning general management, food & beverage, sales as well as conferences and events.
Prior to his appointment, Craig spent more than three years as General Manager of PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport – another hotel within the Group’s operating portfolio of over 30 “Pan Pacific” and PARKROYAL hotels, resorts and serviced suites across Asia, Oceania and North America.
During his tenure at PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport, Craig was instrumental in strengthening the 276-room property’s positioning as one of the leading airport hotels in the region. Notably, PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport was named “Best Airport Hotel, Australia/Pacific” at the prestigious World Airport Awards for two consecutive years (2012 – 2013). Drawing on his extensive operations knowledge and skills, Craig also drove the strategic formulation and implementation of key culinary and MICE initiatives to rebrand the hotel’s dining experience and profile it as a premium meetings destination in Melbourne.
