Holland-America-LineA brawl between a passenger and a cruise member in the Holland America Line ended with an accusation of attempt to murder as the crew member tried to push a woman off the ship.

Ketut Pujayasa, a 28-year-old room service attendant had earlier in the morning knocked on the door of a 31-year-old woman, a U.S. citizen to deliver breakfast. The woman had retorted back in abusive language which greatly hurt the boy.

In an act of revenge the boy followed the woman to her room and invaded on her privacy by opening the door with his master key. He is accused of choking and punching the woman with whatever was available — a laptop, a curling iron. She fought back with a cork screw.

At one point, the fight moved onto a balcony, where Pujayasa tried to push the woman overboard, the complaint read. The woman was however able to break free with the help of fellow passengers.

She was deported to a hospital in Florida after the ship docked the next morning, due to the severity of her injuries. Her condition is not known as of now.

Pujayasa on returning to his room had told his roommate to contact ship security as he had killed a woman; he was placed under guard in the ship. He had joined the ship in 2012 and had a clean criminal record.

Stein Kruse, president and CEO of Holland America Line said that safety is the main concern and the incident had been shocking and is the first of its kind in the company’s history of 140 years.
