QN_01-300x122Redefining the ultimate cruise journeys Royal Caribbean’s latest ship, the 4,200-passenger Quantum of the Seas is a remarkable accomplishment.

Featuring cutting-edge technology this ship is indeed the ‘World’s First SmartShip’.

From cocktail-mixing robots to dancing entertainment screens to high-tech wristbands and apps that put everything at passengers’ fingertips, Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas is simply awe-inspiring.

Traveling on a cruise ship has never been so easy. Here’s some of the major highlights of this SmartShip:-

Guests can can now complete their entire check-in procedure even before they arrive at the port.

They can generate boarding documents online, upload their own ID photo, and receive digital boarding confirmation.

Guests will be able to track luggage in real time on their smartphones. Luggage will be tagged curbside with RFID technology at drop-off, and guests can monitor their bags’ progress through key points en route to the stateroom.

Quantum of the Seas will offer new RFID WOWband wristbands, which require only a simple tap to quickly navigate the ship, make onboard purchases, serve as the room key and more.

Cruise Planner, which allows guests to research and book dining reservations, shore excursions, spa appointments and more while planning their journey.

Quantum of the Seas will operate with unprecedented bandwidth.

Other high-tech features include a robotic bartender that can make a “killer mojito” in the new Bionic Bar, where drinks are ordered on tablets, and the Two70° showroom with its “robotic dancing screens,” an array of robotic arms mounted with rotating video displays.
The ship will also offer virtual balconies – large, high-resolution screens that display the feeds from permanently mounted cameras on the bow and stern of the ship – in its inside staterooms. The screens are framed with curtains that look like balcony doors, and the image has computer-generated balcony railings in the frame, giving guests the feeling of a real balcony experience.

Quantum of the Seas is scheduled to be launched in November and sail to New York.

World cruise industry eagerly anticipates the launch of this new-age smart ship!
