Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport released the following statement today:
It is always wise to budget extra time for travel during the holiday season. It’s especially important this year due to the current phase of the inbound roadway improvement project at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Airport officials recommend that customers budget an additional 20 minutes to access the Airport if traveling during peak times – Monday mornings, Thursday and Friday afternoons and evenings and Sunday nights. Officials also recommend that customers use I-85 or I-285 to access the airport during the construction, as the Camp Creek Parkway entrance may be more congested. As always, travelers are encouraged to approach the airport with caution, follow the signs and adhere to the speed limit.
Airport officials are asking members of the media to assist in alerting the public of potential increased traffic congestion next week by frequently broadcasting the aforementioned announcement.
