cq5dam.web_.press_.400.keepaspectratio5-300x169Four Seasons Hotel Singapore presents a beautifully curated menu of traditional favourites and limited edition mooncakes by its award-winning Chinese restaurant Jiang-Nan Chun. Handcrafted by the Hotel’s skilled chefs with premium wellness ingredients, the mooncakes are coupled with elegant packaging featuring the restaurant’s signature bird motif, and available from now till September 15, 2016.

The chefs-d’oeuvre of this year’s selection include the smoked duck with assorted nuts and lime baked skin mooncake. Jiang-Nan Chun is one of the rare places in Singapore where the duck is roasted in a wood-fired oven, and the tantalisingly savoury blend of aromatic smoked duck enhanced by crunchy nuts and a zest of lime is a feast for the senses. The limited edition Heaven on Earth snow skin mooncake is another show-stopping creation. Reminiscent of the beauty of Jiang Nan, it is an exquisite gem in Jiang-Nan Chun’s signature cerulean blue with dainty bird motifs, and infused with the restaurant’s exclusive Heaven on Earth cocktail in a light 1 percent alcohol content.

Baked Skin Selections

In addition to the limited edition signature smoked duck with assorted nuts and lime baked skin mooncake, well-loved classics silver lotus paste with double yolks and melon seeds and silver lotus paste with single yolk and melon seeds mooncakes and the non-yolk silver lotus paste with honey and pine nuts mooncake are best-selling favourites each year. Each mooncake is made using premium silver lotus of the highest quality. As the lotus is young and fresh, less oil is used in the creation of the paste, making it a healthier option for all ages. These mooncakes are a perfect unison of textures – the smoothness of lotus paste and crunchiness of nuts enclosed in a soft thin baked skin make these flavours great choices for traditional flavour lovers.

This year, wellness selections are also set to pamper the tastebuds and body:

Timeless black beauty black sesame and silver lotus paste with walnuts features black sesame – a great source of iron, magnesium and antioxidants that boast a wide range of anti-ageing and health benefits.

The gentle aromatic jin xuan tea in the jin xuan tea, walnuts, red dates and boxthorn paste mooncake is perfectly balanced by the natural sweetness of boxthorn and red date, a popular health fruit packed with vitamin C and iron. The added crunch of walnuts alongside the chewiness of red dates and silky paste create a refreshing dimension of textures with every bite.

The almond wheat germ lotus paste mooncake is also set to please those seeking healthier indulgences while retaining the traditional flavour of mooncakes, enhanced with a crunch of diced fragrant almonds. A popular ingredient due to its high fibre and healthy fat content, wheat germ serves as a good energy and health booster.

For those looking for savoury delights, the Scotch butter paste mooncake is filled with smooth butterscotch paste – its delicate blend of sweet and saltiness a counterbalance to the roasted aroma from the baked skin.

The popularity of the Four Seasons Medley concept (consisting of an assortment of four flavours) is continued this year. Each box consists of silver lotus paste with double yolks and melon seeds, silver lotus paste with honey and pine nuts, Scotch butter paste and jin xuan tea, walnuts, red dates and boxthorn paste mooncakes for a delectable variety of favourites.
