Development of Tourist Spots in Karnataka

Karnataka-TourismThe Indian Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture & Tourism Shri Shripad Yesso Naik has said that the development and promotion of various tourism destinations & products is primarily the responsibility of the respective State Government/Union Territory (UT) Administration.

 

 

The Ministry of Tourism, however, provides Central Financial Assistance (CFA) to State Governments & Union Territory Administrations for tourism projects prioritised in consultation with them for each financial year, subject to availability of funds, inter-se priority and adherence to scheme guidelines. Details of tourism projects for which CFA has been sanctioned/released/utilised for the State of Karnataka during the last three financial years and the current financial year upto 30.06.2014 are given in the Annexure I.

 

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today Shri Naik said, a list of projects prioritized for the grant of CFA during the current financial year i.e. 2014-15 is at Annexure II. The list includes a project for the “Development of Tourism Infrastructure along the Jog Tourism Circuit”.
