The new route supports both business and leisure travelers with continued service to more than 100 destinations across the Gulf Region, Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. Qatar Airways, a oneworld partner, is the second Gulf Region carrier to begin operations at DFW as the airline targets growth markets across the United States.

“Our partnership with Qatar Airways and today’s inaugural flight from Doha is exciting for the Airport and the millions of passengers we serve. Dallas/Fort Worth customers now have nonstop access to a new destination in the Gulf Region and a second major carrier from this region joins DFW,” said Sean Donohue, DFW Airport’s chief executive officer. “DFW is an integral economic driver to the region and this new nonstop service adds approximately $200 million annually to our economy.”

“Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is a major hub for global aviation and an essential part of our expanding global network. We greatly appreciate the hard work and dedication of these cities and the airport, which has made this important partnership possible,” said His Excellency Akbar Al Baker CEO Qatar Airways. “We look forward to offering our signature 5-star service to passengers across North Texas. Also, through our oneworld partnership with American Airlines, Qatar Airways will now connect cities across the Southwestern USA to our network via DFW.”

Highlighting the service are connections in Doha of approximately three hours or less to major cities in the Indian subcontinent like Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Qatar Airways’ nonstop flight from Dallas/Fort Worth to Doha features a Business Class service – named the “World’s Best Business Class” at the Skytrax World Airline Awards in 2013 – as well as economy service.

The inbound flight was greeted at DFW today with a shower of affection and departing customers were treated at the gate to appetizers and coffee that represent the tastes of the Doha region, with background music performed on traditional Middle Eastern hand drums called “doumbek.”

DFW Airport is encouraging passengers to join the conversation by using the hashtags #Qatar_DFW and #DFWtoDoha to share photos and posts from the inaugural flight and future travels on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
