am_20160927__m__1317-300x169On September 27 and 28, the leading figures from the airfreight sector are gathering with representatives from industry and science to discuss the future of logistics at the “Frankfurt Air Cargo Innovation Lab”.

In cooperation with the publishing company DVV Media Group, Fraport has invited the entire sector to Frankfurt Airport to exchange ideas and discuss how digitalization, big data and innovative technologies will change the air cargo supply chain and which new business models may arise as a result. In this context, futurologists will present possible scenarios and renowned industry players will describe how they see the future development of the sector.

The “Frankfurt Air Cargo Innovation Lab” adds interactive workshops and discussions to the traditional conference format. Dirk Schusdziara, head of Fraport AG’s Cargo

Development & Management department, explains the concept behind the event: “Innovations are not brought into being by single individuals. Ideas have to be shared and discussed in open dialog so that newer and even better ideas can be developed together.

Increasing digitalization will change our sector over the coming years. This presents us with certain challenges but also offers countless opportunities. As an innovation leader in the airfreight sector, Fraport wants to be a forward thinker and pioneer in this process.”

A total of around 100 experts from Germany and other countries are participating in the Frankfurt Air Cargo Innovation Lab. The conference is taking place at the Fraport Forum venue, located right at Frankfurt Airport.
